How often does a grease trap need to be cleaned in Los Angeles?

LA County’s FOG program uses the 25% rule: once fats, oils and grease take up a quarter of the trap’s capacity, it must be pumped. For most restaurants that means indoor traps every 2–4 weeks and outdoor interceptors every 1–3 months. We will size a schedule to your actual volume after the first visit.

What is the difference between a grease trap and a grease interceptor?

A grease trap is a small indoor unit (typically 20–50 gallons) under or near the sink. A grease interceptor is a large in-ground tank outside, usually 500–5,000 gallons. Skyline services both; interceptors are pumped with a vacuum truck and take longer per visit.

Do I get paperwork for the health inspector?

Yes. Every service produces a manifest showing the date, technician, volume removed and disposal facility. Keep it with your cleaning log — inspectors will ask for it.

How much does grease trap cleaning cost?

Can you also take our used fryer oil?

Yes — and that part is free. We drop off a container, collect the oil on the same route as your trap service, and recycle it.
